What is an authenticator app?
An authenticator app is a specialized application designed to generate time-sensitive, one-time codes for two-factor authentication (2FA).
How does it work?
Time-Based Codes: authenticator apps generate time-based codes that are valid for a short duration, typically 30 seconds. The codes are derived from a secret key that is only known by the Tradu platform and your authenticator app. This secret together with a predefined algorithm and time current time enables both systems to calculate a value that is only valid for a short time and therefore cannot be guessed.
Offline Functionality: authenticator apps do not require an internet connection to generate codes. This means you can use them even in areas with limited or no network connectivity.
Secure Encryption: The codes generated by authenticator apps are encrypted and unique to each user. This makes them extremely secure and resistant to interception or duplication.
